Ever want to be an adult and child all at the same time?  Then visit Walt Disney’s Downtown Disney!

No, this is not an advertisement.  It’s a testimony.  Downtown Disney has a Marketplace and Pleasure Island and fun than the law should allow.  There is every kind of food you can eat and under conditions that only someplace with the name Disney could provide.  It’s a delight for the heart and the eyes.  But, see just a little of the excitement I tried to capture in these few photos below.  After that, don’t live through my experience, go visit Downtown Disney for yourself!

Who was Eating Who in Jurassic Park

At the peak moments of your life, how did you react?

If you look very closely, you will see people in the lower right-hand corner of the above picture.  They are standing on a mountain that reaches high above the clouds.  I can only imagine how awesome this experience was for them.  However, I too have witnessed and beheld some marvelous sights and heard some angelic sounds during my lifetime.
Fully engaged during those times, I have felt

It is amazing how we can forget and then remember, with great fondness, those who have touched our lives in deeply relevant ways. This reminder can be a word, a voice, an event, a sound. In my case, it was the picture to the left.   I was searching the net for international drumming festivals and organizations that would be associated with them.  I found Drums.org where the master Olatunji once served as an advisory board member.  That unforgettable smile so reminds me of my father’s.  It caught my eye and refreshed my memory of this giant.

As a young woman in love with music, I was captured (at that time) by a gorgeous young man who also played the conga drums. He was the one who introduced me to this master teacher:  Babatunde Olatunji.   With such fond memories, it was with great sadness that I read the next few words: “passed away, Sunday, April 6, 2003, 7:30 am, age of 76.” How amazing! that, in my mind and heart, he was still wearing his earthen suit somewhere making sounds of joy and passion until I read those words.

So that I and others will never forget, I create this memorial space here among my entries and add this most marvelous photo of him in honor of his life, his work, and most of all — his music.  Amazing!

I have been told that since I am a water sign, that this explains my love of travel.  Sometimes I have the opportunity to simply get in my car and drive as far as I please.  These shots were taken on my drive from Michigan to Arizona.  With no one else to consider while on this trip, I was able to stop whenever I chose and take pictures all along the route.  Photography by Sophia Asaviour…EnJoy!!!

The photo to the right is of these really unusual and fantastic rock formations somewhere between New Mexico and Arizona.  (I really should have labeled these 10 rolls of film 🙂  If you’ve seen similar ones, write and share where you found them.

This photograph depicts what it looks like to feel completely safe and secure.  The baby sleeps assured of protection guarding its life.

This mother is not holding her head and screaming into space over the loss of her child, but gently supporting and tenderly gazing at the fruit of her womb.  So it is for her and so may it be for all mothers and their babies.  Amen

Who Me?

They say I have my grandfather’s eyes.

And that I have my dad’s laugh.

But, my dreams are all my own.
